Book Tag

I know there was a little confussion the last time I posted something in that people thought it was Travis but to make it clear this is Allie.

It is lucky that I just finished reading a book by my favorite author Mary Higgins Clark and then I was going through past post and noticed I had been Book Tagged by Kobie. Like Kobie I am going to bend the rules as well and post the paragraph so that it will make a little more sense.

"...By noon, the search team had left her house, and Elaine went upstairs to her bedroom. As she showered and dressed, her mind raced with the possibilities raised by Peter's arrest. What will happen if Peter goes to prison for the rest of his life? she asked herself. Would he and Kay decide to sell this place? Can they do it while I'm alive? That might violate my prenup, or at the very least they'd have to buy me out."

The book is called, I Heard That Song Before, by Mary Higgins Clark. If you enjoy reading suspense filled mysteries then you should check out her books.

I now tag:
1. Briana
2. Bethany

The Hawaii Chair

A few weeks ago my friend Amber posted about The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She included a link to a clip about the Hawaii Chair. Earlier today Heather and I were talking (suprising, I know) and it came up. We both went to our computers to watch and were laughing so hard! We knew Ben would like it so we decided to share it with everyone. Click here to watch!

What the heck?

Okay, since Kobie posted the "Tagged" posting no one has responded, so I thought I would keep it moving along. Briana, you still have yet to respond, you are next!!

How long have you been together? 8 years this fall, time goes by so fast.

Who said "I Love You" first? Doug, I nearly fell out of my chair. This is the same guy who said he would never get married or have children. Now he is an excellent husband and father.

Who is smarter? Doug has good common sense, I tend to make hasty decisions. But I figure we are both pretty smart people. As my friend Rhonda says we are "old souls". People who cant have a game plan kill me! (Kobie, I still love you)

Who pays the bills? Me, I have tried numerous times to show Doug how to do it in Quickbooks and he wants nothing to do with it. All he cares about is if they get paid.

Who is the most stubborn? Me, hands down. Doug just goes with the flow of things. He never likes to ruffle any feathers.

Who wears the pants in your family? Good match of 50/50 but Doug might say I do :)

Now, 3 random things about me.

1. After getting out of the shower I must do my make-up immediately. I have to get my foundation on before my face is dry I also have to blow dry my hair before I put on my mascara.

2. We never share blankets at night and we year round sleep with our ceiling fan on high. I think I got that from my dad. I like it cold when I sleep.

3. I stinking hate when people touch my head, the wind also makes me mad. If you want me to have a bad day send me out in the wind on the way out rub my head that will do me in for sure.

The NASCAR Yacht Club

This last weekend was the NASCAR Subway Fresh 500 and of course Doug and I had to go! We had loads of fun and I cant help but love the sound of the engines and all the loud goings on. I guess its just in my blood, thanks mom and dad!

Since Doug introduced me to NASCAR racing I have enjoyed going to the races here in Phoenix when the circuit is traveling.
This race was particularly fun because my brother in law Jason and my niece Katelyn were able to join us. Katelyn was such a sport and had a good time. She loved to listen to the scanner and hear what the drivers had to say. She never got up form her seat but twice to get food and a potty break. Now remember races are about four hours long!!
Jason just loves that Katelyn and he can share in the NASCAR experience even if she is a Tony Stewart lover!!
Thanks to Annie and Travis for keeping Kennedy for me ALL day so we could go to the race!!

Tagged...again

This time my friend Melinda tagged me. I am so glad that it's a love tag because I am especially grateful for a good husband today.

How long have you been together? Six years as of a few weeks ago, our anniversary is in June.

Who said "I Love You" first? Jared. Then about three days later I said it back.

Who is smarter? That totally depends on the subject. Jared can build a house and I can make a meal. I think we compliment each other perfectly with our knowledge.

Who pays the bills? Me. Everyone one of them. I am a freak with money, or so I have been told.

Who is the most stubborn? Me, hands down. Jared is so easy going, he doesn't care about anything. So, don't ask me why I have to be stubborn. My dad says I am stubborn for all the right reasons, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

Who wears the pants in your family? I think we are 50/50. Our problem is we are both really indecisive. (Heather loves that about us! Just kidding, it drives her insane.) I don't consider either of us the boss, we work really well together.

Now, 3 random things about me.

1. After getting out of the shower I must do my make-up immediately. I have to get my foundation on before my face is dry.

2. Since we have been married we have owned 9 vehicles. Okay, 8 trucks and 1 car. That doesn't even include all of the loaners we have had. As a Hatch, it's just part of life. I have had my truck for just over a year, that is a long time for us. It's not even fun to get something new to drive anymore, it's just another day for us.

3. It drives me crazy that Jared insists we share blankets at night. I hate to be touched while I am sleeping. He insists that all normal married couples share. Has he met any one in my family? None of them share and they are all doing fine. This is the one topic that we will always fight about if it comes up. I avoid it. And yes, we share the stinking blankets.

Caleb and Carson were baptized!

On Saturday, Caleb and Carson were baptized! They were so excited! Before the baptism, Chea Lamb took pictures of our boys. Here is the one of the first ones that I've seen. Click here for more pictures that she has posted. It's titled "The Field is Green: Future Missionaries".

Wedding Bells Ring

(sorry for the small photos, I couldn't get the ones my sister in law e-mailed me to be any larger, I will try to work this out)

This last weekend we hosted the wedding of Doug's brother Nick, and his new wife Laura. I won't lie, the anticipation of this event and all the work that led up to it could kill a horse. But it was well worth it. Nick and Laura looked overjoyed and everyone had a great time. It was so fun to be a part of the wedding and share their special day with them. We are so happy they chose to marry here and not in Hawaii so that all the family could be a part.

We had over 100 guests and family from Illinois, Las Vegas and Arkansas. Now that is love!
Kennedy was the flower girl. She got all the way to the isle runner and came to a halt. I think it was because earlier in the day I told her to stay off the runner, this is a first since she really did listen to me. But she was so dang cute!!

Doug was one of the Best Men, but I think he was the Best Man of all. He looked so sharp in is suit.
Here is a little view of the back corner of the yard where the ceremony was. Are you admiring Doug's green grass or the fact that the lines are perfect?

Here are the bride and groom. She looked lovely and I have honestly never seen Nick so happy.

Here are mother and son sharing a dance.

The cake, oh the cake. Besides the fact that is was to die for, my now sister in law Laura, who entrusted me with the decorating gave me the topper for the cake. I put it on the top walked in the house and heard a crashing noise. Holy smokes, the topper fell off and shattered. I thought I was going to die. So, to cover it up I just added some flowers to the top of the cake, not too bad.

Even after the wedding was over all the family stayed at our house to enjoy dinner and conversation. Doug even managed to convince some of the guests to play Guitar Hero on the screen and projector he set up outside. Now Nick and Laura are off on their Mexican Cruise soaking up the sun. We all hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did.

P.S.
A very special thank you to Briana for lending her talents and playing the violin for the wedding. It added such a sense of class to the whole ceremony. Thank you Briana!!

I've been Book Tagged

I've been book tagged by Ashby. Since I just happen to be reading a book (I hate reading so this is a miracle!) I thought I would give it a try.
Here's how it goes:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

I am going to bend the rules a little and give a little more than just the sentence. It just makes no sense by itself. Here is the preceding paragraph.

In the end, Tammy buckled under the pressure, was whisked to Salt Lake City, and married to Merril late Saturday night. Even though she had been to college and was a teacher, she had never mastered the ability to stand up for herself. She had a mouth and would often complain about things no one else would, but Tammy also felt the need to please people.

I felt blindsided by the news and said little.

Okay, not a very exciting sentence. But, I highly recommend this book, if you don't have an anger issue. This book will tick you off and you will hate the people that are in her life. But, it's a good read. Do it when you don't have much going on because it's pretty hard to put down. (Mom warned me!) Just to put it into perspective, I have been reading it every chance I have had since Sunday and that night and again last night I had a dream about it. I also had a dream that I was part of Dog the Bounty Hunter's team. Me and Baby Lisa were teammates but as a whole team we were on a hunt. It was intense.

Okay, I'm only tagging three:

1. Allie

2. Mom

3. Melinda
