Her Father's Child

(This post is mostly for Marlene, but if you know Jared at all you might appreciate this as well.)
Yesterday morning I had Addie's "waff" or waffles all ready for her breakfast. She asked me if she could have some Coke and I told her no. Oh my goodness! We had a major breakdown. She went into the pantry and carried out a 12 pack. She laid on the ground and cried. She asked Jared, who by the way wanted to give in just to make her happy. She begged and begged. She was bound and determined to have one but I wasn't going to let in. This went on for a good 20-30 minutes before she finally gave up. She doesn't need Coke in the first place (her father and I disagree on that), especially for breakfast! Here is a little bit of her fit.

Today Travis asked if I could keep Cooper for a few hours and I was so excited! He was a good boy and fun to play with. He can hold his head up so well and loves to smile big. He is even getting one of his bottom teeth. In just a few weeks he is going to be four months old. We all love you Cooper.

Happy Birthday Briana & Devin

(I apologize that the recent Birthday post pictures have not showed the kids all cleaned up and dressed in their best. They sport dirty faces, but we were camping...what can I say?)

Happy Birthday Devy! and Happy Birthday to you too, Briana!

Old McDonald had a farm

If you haven't been to the Richardson homestead in a while then you haven't had the privilege of meeting the latest and greatest addition to the pet family. I admit it looks like a farm now but this little goat offers plenty of amusement for children and adults. It seems that it loves to run around with the dogs and play with the kids. When it gets really excited it runs straight up Jordan's car and does a few jumps on the roof. Its hilarious!! I don't even know if it has a name but I do know Grandma Stanford goes outside to visit it and even talks to it. We all know she loves animals.

You say it's your birthday

It seems we never run out of birthdays at the Richardson house! Last night for FHE we celebrated Briana, Devin & Kennedy's birthdays with cake and homemade ice cream. For those who don't know Briana and Devin share the same birthday and Kennedy and Devin were born only five days apart from each other. We all had a good time.

What the hay?

Here is a little update on us. What we have been up to, where we have been and so on.
Where we have been...
Bugling. It's that time of year and Jared couldn't be more thrilled. We went out twice last week (not to be out done, Jared went three times). Addie has the greatest time. On Saturday we saw a big buck and a cow and Addie couldn't stop talking about it for days. If you talk to her on the phone she has to tell you that she saw elk.
(Jared is wearing his Camo hat so he can be official.)

Here is Addie all ready to go last Monday.

Next, we have been to the Fair. A first for me. Possibly a last.

Jared and Addie watching the auction. We have officially been inducted into the Red Neck Club...we bought a pig. BBQ anyone?

Here is Kimber and her little boyfriend Macon. We went with his parents, our good friends, Ty and Traci. Not the best picture, but Addie was the one who took it.

What we have been up to...

Here are the girls after their bath the other day. The flash is a little bright for Kimber's eyes, if you couldn't tell.

I broke my own rule the other day and let Addie push Kimber in her doll stroller. Look at Addie's lips. She is telling Kimber to "look at Kobie, K. Look at Kobie." (Addie can say the word Hamburger with no problem. I have never heard a little kid say it so perfectly. But try to get her to say Kimber. It comes out K.)

Addie found these little bonnets the other day and wore one and put the other on Kimber. I tried as hard as I could to get them to both look at me at the same time, but this is as close and as good as it got.

One last note. Addie does get her hair done, everyday in fact. But, by the end of the day this is usually what we are dealing with. Have I ever posted a picture of her with her hair done?

One Two Buckle My Shoe

I never thought two years would fly by as fast as it did. I can hardly believe that Kennedy is already officially two. We have been so blessed to have her in our lives and we are grateful for her having made us a family.

For Kennedy's Birthday her Grammy & Poppy took her to dinner for pizza and brought her some gifts. She loved opening them as you can see and wanted to wear all of them immediately. She even got a new winter jacket and loved it so much she had to wear it the next day over to Grandma Richardson's and it was 109 that day! When I put her in the car she kept saying "hot" but if I tried to take if off she cried.

We took Kennedy camping this last weekend for her birthday. She got to have Elmo cupcakes and open presents fireside with her Grandpa & Grandma Kelly. As you can see in the photo below her anticipation to open presents was more than she could bare so... she decided to bite it open!!

My Baptism Day

We are so proud of you Soren and your decision to be baptized. What a beautiful location and so memorable. Even though we couldn't all be there we are so proud of you and what a special young man you have become.

Happy Birthday Kennedy!

Sorry this is late, Kennedy. I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday.
Happy late Birthday! We love you! Hope you have fun on your camping trip.

Happy Birthday Soren!

Soren, this post is dedicated to you! Even though we can't be there to sing "Happy Birthday" or see you blow out your candles, we will still be thinking of you.

Monday, September 10, 2007

I can hardley belive it when I look at Kennedy and realize that Friday she will be 2 years old. Time sure goes by fast when they are little. It seems just like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital and now she is little Miss Busy Body. We are taking her camping for her birthday so I will post some new photos next week.

So Big

At Bethany's request I am posting a current picture of her boys. Seems that living on the island of Dominica has given them a sweet tan any Arizonan would love. It's good to see Soren and Drake are having the adventure of a life time.
I guess it wouldn't be right if I didn't post a picture of Kennedy with something on her head. I swear every photo she has something on her head. Never mind the fact that I do her hair EVERY DAY and he loves to mess it up. It kills me. But she is just too cute and in only 8 days she will be 2 years old.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

So, if you didn't already know about Soren you do now. Sunday as Soren was happily skipping along he met a crack in the sidewalk and his chin required 7 stitches to seal the deal. Luckily he was a sport and now has an awesome adventure story to tell his friends.

A few new loves

I thought I would post some new things that my girls are up to in the last few days. First of all, Kimber is mobile! She is no longer staying in place but crawling around. Lucky for me, it's a rather slow crawl for now. She has also found a new love in Sweet Potatoes. She downed a whole jar for dinner tonight. Look at the joy on her face when her Mom finally found a food she likes.

Addie is also finding new things to do every day. Most recently it's been taking my order and writing it down or playing office. Yes, talking on the phone, using the calculator and writing on a piece of paper, all at the same time. (My family would not think that this is my daughter at all...playing office. Wait until she discovers playing school!) Another thing that she loves doing is crossword puzzles. Seriously. I checked her work and she actually draws circles and things that appear to look like "e's" and "a's" directly in the boxes, with out going out of the lines. Here is what I found her doing the other day.

Family Picnic

Today Mom, Dad, Annie, Brig, Jared and I along with our girls all went to Greens Peak for a picnic. Dad found us a great spot (of course). We had so much fun. After lunch the boys went off and shot their guns for a while. The girls stayed back and talked. Here are a few pictures.

The topic? Guns, I believe. What else?

Just because Mom said she BETTER see some pictures of me on here. Here you go, Mom.

Don't we have the cutest Gram ever!?!

Grandma Richardson entertaining Kimber.

Kimber entertaining Uncle Brigham.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend Jared and I had a few visitors. It was so fun! Mom, Grandma Stanford, Annie and Brigham came up early Saturday morning and Dad came later that night. Heather and Doug also came up Saturday afternoon. We visited, went to the Sweet Corn Festival, visited, ate, and visited a little more. On Sunday we went to our ward and then had a yummy dinner at my house afterwards. Here are a few pictures from Saturday and Sunday.

For some reason this picture didn't come out right. We took this for Judd since he sent one to us of him by an old antiquish car.

Brigham enjoying his Cotton Candy from the Festival.

Grandma Stanford got a ride from Jared in his truck on Saturday. It's lifted and is a little tricky for me to get in to, but she hopped right in and slid right out, no problem!

Don't ask me how pretty much all of the pictures ended up having Brigham in them. This is right before church on Sunday. I love this picture!

Beauty Queen

Will Annie seriously be 12 years old next month? I can't believe how "mature" she is! For so long she was the little girl but now she is one of the girls. You're beautiful Muffy!

Mean Mom

I know that in about 15 years Addie will consider me the worst Mom ever, but I just had to post this. The other day she woke with the worst hair I have ever seen her have. As you can see, we are still having issues with her bangs.
